About us

How it started...

If you are in a situation as a parent where you want learning resources that will help for specific learning needs, or broken down into really small steps because that’s going to work best for your child, or if you want to inspire fun, creativity or mindfulness when you are on holiday, then you might have found exactly the right place. And in me you have found an experienced teacher and a parent that wants to publish books and resources to help your child to love curiosity and develop a positive habit of learning.

Heather

The name

Where did the name Bosky come from? Bosky is an Old English word which means wooded or covered with trees. For me, nature is an analogy of growth and learning. You may well know a famous quote about acorns and trees.

‘From little acorns, mighty oaks grow’, Troilus and Criseyde, Geoffrey Chaucer’s 1374 poem

‘The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn’, Ralph Waldo Emerson

My maiden name means ‘a clearing in a wood of lime trees’ so I have always felt very connected to nature, trees and growth, and I wanted to capture the optimism of all that could possibly be achieved in the future through learning by imagining the growth of saplings and trees into woods.
